about
An old song I completely rewrote a couple months ago. I was itching to play electric guitar again and the timing for finishing the lyric and recording this song seemed perfect. Takes me back to a time when I first fell in love with guitar and the blues at 19. In some ways, this song is literally about ending a relationship, but on a deeper level, Just In Time To Say Goodbye represents a letting go of the old parts within us that have caused us to miss out on opportunities. Well, it's time to let go of the fear and move forward.
Chorus:
You're just in time to say goodbye, a little late to change my mind
There's nothing you can do
You've always held the power, now this is your final hour
This time I'm leaving you
Verse 1:
Ticktock your time is up, says the clock up on the wall
Hours roll on, you don't call
Each minute slipping by, you steal a piece of my heart
If I let this go much longer, you'll tear it all apart
Verse 2:
I was anxiously awaiting, for you to return
Sick of feeling nothing but concern
Weighs so heavy on my mind, I paced a hole through the floor
I knew we had to face it, soon as you walked through the door
Verse 3:
We go round and round, I grow tired of the lies
No matter how you spin it, I cry
Every day goes by, more lonely than the last
You broke me once too often, it's time to break the cast
